Recently, our Pre-Toddlers have shown a persistent interest in The Wiggles, especially the fruit salad song.
Following on from this the practitioners have planned a fantastic activity to support the interests of our children - making FRUIT SALADS!

This learning opportunity supported the following:

our children’s
interests

encouraging
differentiation of different fruits - the children were keen to try the different fruits available.

working together to
achieve a common goal

independence of
eating their own fruit salad

supporting meal times
e.g manners, following instructions

allows the children
to make connections with familiar songs/material to their learning

supporting
communication and language skills through songs/music
Our Pre-Toddlers have been enjoying some water play this week. We have enhanced our continuous provision by providing an opportunity for our children to develop their sensory
exploration with ice and water. It is important to provide experiences for children to develop their awareness of changes in materials and their environments, even at the youngest of ages! The
practitioners developed their language skills to the children using vocabulary such as "cold".
