According to the EYFS 2012 children must be povided with meals, snacks and drinks that are healthy, balanced and nutritious.
Before a child begins to attend the setting we always obtain information from the parents/carers about their childs special dietry requirements, food preferences, food allergies or any special health requirements. We always record and meet these dietry needs.
Our kitchen area is adequately equipped to provide healthy meals for the children. The meals are hygienically prepared on a daily basis by our healthy eating co-ordinators Norah Logan, who is trained to the required level 2 award in Food Safety and Catering.
These high standards are maintained through the use and reference to the 'Safer Food, Better Business' manual, which is the standards set out by or local authority Allerdale Borough Council. We are inspected annually by this authority and we are proud to say that at present we hold a 5 star food hygiene rating which is the highest possible standard.
